Breaking news : Manchester United receive boost in their squad as star player returns from injury.
Raphael Varane working
hard to get back fit
Raphael Varane could come back as early as
this weekend, with the Frenchman speaking
out as he looks to get back fit.
Manchester United have been pretty stretched in
terms of team selection recently, with several players
out missing with injuries.
Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane
have all been absent for a prolonged period now,
which is obviously less than ideal for the new interim
manager Ralf Rangnick.
Well, in terms of the fitness of the latter, United
have been boosted, as the key star could return
this weekend. That’s according to the Manchester
Evening News, who have identified Norwich away
as a potential return date for the Frenchman
while discussing our injury issues.
Yes, I’m working very hard and, you know, footballers are like F1 [cars] so sometimes we have to change something and to improve the motor,” Varane said.
“I think I have to change a little thing because
it’s a big difference, a big change.
“The kind of work is different work so I have to adapt. I know that and I’m working very hard to be at my best as quickly as possible. I know it’s big work but I’m ready to do it, to try to improve.
“I’m very excited to come back to help the team.”
What’s great about Varane is that he knows when a
change is required. This guy is a wise old head who
has been about long enough to understand when
to adapt and adjust.
The Premier League is a completely different
kettle of fish to La Liga and the strain it places
on your body just cannot be compared.
As of right now, Varane will look to make the necessary
adjustments when he comes back into the fore –
with Rangnick hoping to have him back pretty
quickly no doubt.
It goes without saying that when fit, Varane is
our best centre-back. He just oozes class and under
our new German boss, I’d expect the multiple
Champions League winner to only improve
as a player.
The best thing to do now is to not rush Varane
back. I’d ease him in by perhaps placing him
amongst the substitutes against Norwich City
this weekend, slowly increasing his workload
after that point.
