Breaking news: reason why Manchester United first signing will be a free transfer.
Newcastle United are poised to pounce for
Marseille star Boubacar Kamara in January
and scupper Manchester United's plans on
signing the young Frenchman for free next summer
, according to reports.

United's interim boss Ralf Rangnick is reportedly
a keen admirer of the Frenchman and is hoping
to tempt him to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils
are understood to be waiting until the summer
when he is available for free.
And Marca reports that Newcastle are primed
to make a move for Kamara next month, suggesting
that Eddie Howe's side are preparing a £10million
offer for the versatile centre back previously
linked with Wolves.
The Red Devils will, though, attempt to stifle
Newcastle's attempts to land Kamara next
month and the same outlet reports that the club
may offer the Ligue 1 side Anthony Martial
on loan in a bid to stop them offloading
Kamara early.
Kamara has been on Newcastle's radar for
some time and French outlet RMC Sport
reported that the Magpies had agreed a deal
with Marseille over a deal for the 22-year-old
last summer.
The Magpies, according to the report, agreed
a £2.2 loan fee, with an option to sign next
summer permanently for £12.9m.

However, the Frenchman rejected the chance
to move to St James' Park, so he may need convincing
to change his mind this time around.
Newcastle have since undergone a change
in ownership, with a consortium led by Saudi
Arabia's Public Investment Fund now making
the Magpies the wealthiest club on the planet.
The Tyneside outfit are currently bogged down
in a relegation battle and Howe has been tasked
with staving off the drop. New additions of
Kamara's quality will, then, be welcomed.
Newcastle have also been strongly linked with
a move for Atletico Madrid star and England
international Kieran Trippier. Reports last week
claimed that the LaLiga champions are anticipating
an offer for the right back.
